Wilbur, Washington

Ag Appreciation Day 2007

Ag Appreciation Day was the brain child of Bonnie Polhamus of Babe's in Wilbur. She felt the community needed a day of celebration to express their appreciation to the agricultural community.

The day was filled with various events for kids and adults alike. The day started with breakfast served by the Wilbur Fire Dept. from 8~10am.

During a stroll down main street we found some street artists practicing their craft

Just one street over we found some members of the Goose Creek Ory warming up their fingers and strings.

After breakfast the parade started at 11am.

Festivites continue from 12pm~3pm with activies in the community center and in the park.

Some of the things going on were -

  • Lunch
  • Music in the Park
    by Coll Waters Band
  • A Quilt Show
(I missed getting any pictures of this so if you have some pictures you don't mind sharing I'd really like to put some up.)
  • Straw Maze
  • Pie Baking Contest
  • Kids Games and Crafts
  • Beard Growing Contest
  • Horseshoe Tournament
  • Bib Overall Contest
  • Stick Horse Races
  • Sack Races
  • and a Kids Postage Stamp Contes
    (sponsored by the USPS)

We split the photo albums to reduce download time for those on slower connections. If you would like to see more pictures of the day follow one of these links.
